Screw you, anemia.

meravigliamo:

Okay, maybe I can’t go without meat anymore. It’s only been three days, which feels so pathetic, but my body is really mad at me right now. I feel weak and depleted, even with the vitamins that I’ve been taking, and I feel like I just need something with more sustenance than the vegan diet can give me.

So for lunch today, I am going to make salmon and some sort of healthy side. I feel bad breaking this detox, but it’s really not going to be beneficial if I collapse at work tomorrow. My weight is dropping yet again, and I just can’t do this if I want to be healthy. I’ll be working to keep a nutritious diet, though. Hence salmon, and maybe a salad or a pasta salad or something.

What I really need right now are calories, fat, protein, and healthy oils like the oils found in fish. I will start to hurt myself if I don’t honor that.

It’s important to listen to your body. Please don’t ever forget that.

Calories, fat, protein, iron etc. can all be found in vegan sources, in abundance. I suspect that you weren’t eating enough, honestly. Iron is especially heavy in spinach, broccoli, beans, and tofu. It’s really very easy to get.

I suggest you check out this movie for motivation, and for more information about how eating meat is actually terrible for you:
