Intro to Juicing!

So after months of pining, I finally bought a juicer! It’s the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Express. I had narrowed it down to Breville, Jack LaLanne, and Hamilton Beach. I decided I wanted to buy one new, though, as you never know what kind of action the motor on a used model has seen, which immediately ruled out Breville, in terms of price. And the Jack LaLanne happened to be sitting in Meijer… so I had to scoop it up!

Before I ask questions of any kind, I tend to do my audience a solid and at least try to Google it first. No one likes the person who can’t operate an internet search engine. But I’ve been reading up on juicing, only to get some mixed information.

For example, in theory, would it be feasible to live off of juice as a raw vegan, provided you of course ate in the right quantity? I’ve been reading about how juicing removes the fiber, but does this slow nutrient absorption in a truly detrimental way? How important is that fiber? Am I, more or less, getting the same nutrient content of an orange by juicing it as I would by eating it or blending it?

Do you have any general tips and tricks for me, as a new juicer?
