Just because you can’t feel their pain doesn’t mean that it’s nonexistent and I hate to break it to you but ignoring it won’t make it stop.
If you have the ability to put a stop to the suffering of another being but choose not to you are a selfish fucking asshole.
blame society, blame the companies and blame your upbringing as much as you want, you are responsible for your own actions. Start caring about something other than yourself.
GO VEGAN.
(via vegan-because-fuck-you)

There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Selective compassion doesn’t score you brownie points either. I don’t care about what animal charities you donate to, how many animals you have rescued or any other good deed you seem to think nullifies your evil ones, you can not make a generalized statement such as ” I’m an animal lover” if you contribute to the suffering, exploitation, oppression and murder of billions of animals each year.

This post has been a win.

i’ve tried being a vegetarian several times and always thought i would do it for good when i’m older and maybe go vegan
so i have always sympathised with the movement and i get how frustrating it can be when you think eating meat’s wrong and you cry yourself to sleep at night because of fluffy animals or something
but some of the posts i see on tumblr geez you are bordering on psychotic
and you’re just making me want to be a part of it less and less
also if you give a shit i’m unable to maintain a vegetarian lifestyle due to the moodswings it gives me but i’m sure you don’t because i don’t quack
If you legitimately care about the movement, dicks shouldn’t make you care about it less.
As for the mood swings, it’s probably a deficiency caused by lack of information. I’d be happy to help you plan a more efficient vegan diet. I have severe mental illnesses, and being vegan has actually helped me improve in many senses. Perhaps it could help you, too.

if vegans really think that the fact that humans aren’t meat eaters by genetic code/nature is going to stop me from eating meat and dairy, then I have news for you
It doesn’t matter whether or not we can. We don’t NEED to, and since we don’t NEED to, why would we put so many animals through needless suffering like that?
that is a valid point, and I will admit that I have no argument against it.
I really, /really/ hate seeing what goes on in a lot of factories that produce meat, and personally? I’m trying really hard to stop eating store bought meat/dairy/eggs. I’d personally really like to eat nothing but meat that was killed when it was free and actually alive. Something that lived a really natural life.
So, yes, I agree with you on that animals don’t need to suffer needlessly like they do.
I should have mentioned that store bought meat makes me sick to my stomach most of the time.
Fair point, but remember that ultimately, animals are sentient beings. They should exist for a reason beyond providing us with food, even if they are raised ‘humanely’ - and most of these labels aren’t even true/are a stretched truth. ‘Cage-free’ eggs, for example, could just as easily mean that chickens were kept in a huge warehouse their whole lives.

The Vegan Abolitionist: Veganism and Vegetarianism
I have been a vegetarian for 4 years.
(for a few months I was off and on, but went back full on, idk when lol)
But one of the big reasons I became vegetarian was because well for one, I did not like meat that…
Thanks, that would be awesome!!
(:
The best thing to do would be to buy in bulk and watch sales. Typically cheap vegan items include beans, pasta, bread, and fruit. Apples and bananas are especially cheap, but really, most fruits aren’t too pricey. I like making Mexican dishes a lot, because they’re cheap and easy - shells/tortillas, beans (refried can be vegan!), tomatoes, lettuce, sauce, onions, etc. I also like crumbling chips in mine for a crunch. ;)
Chips and other such snacks are also pretty cheap. Oh, and PBJ. PBJ is a diet staple. One of my fave things too is a ‘Snagel’ - you get a bagel, top it with olive oil, vegan butter, or vegan cream cheese, and then add brown sugar and maybe cinnamon. It’s delicious!
Stir fries are also very good, and a great way to use up leftovers.
What kinds of foods do you like?

I get so fucking enraged when I’m guilt tripped bc I eat meat
like okay sorry I have allergies and puke when I eat fake meat
you have NO RIGHT to judge me and my personal choices. Because you know what? For the most part, those of us who are omnivores keep our mouths shut about it and don’t force Vegetarians/Vegans to eat meat or to feel bad about not eating meat… until we get pissed and even then it’s not a common fucking thing
I CHOOSE to eat meat but that choice is also INFLUENCED by my allergies and my gag reflex so
bloodmouth fo lyfe I guess
but I’m a terrible person who deserves to die so I’ve been told? And that’s not okay, that’s not fair
because in the end, we as humans are omnivorous ANIMALS and part of our diet is MEAT and I follow what my body wants. ESPECIALLY being pregnant holy shit aside from french fries, I want steak all the time. Not denying myself or my child, pregnant or not
If you’re a Vegan or a Vegetarian? More power to you but if you get in my face and tell me I deserve to die, guilt trip me, tell me I should be ashamed or pull some PETA bullshit on me then I will retaliate.
If you’re Vegan/Vegetarian and DON’T do that? Then I have utmost respect for you. I have no problems with people who choose to live that way, I have a problem with the dickweeds who pull the “kill yourself” or guilt trip bullshit
Here’s the thing. You not having a problem with most vegans is not surprising. What’s there to have a problem with? It’s not at all comparable to vegans having a problem with meat-eaters, who are responsible for the rape, torture, and slaughter of animals through the funding of these horrific industries.
You don’t need fake meat to be a vegan. Most vegans I know rarely eat that stuff. And if you truly wanted to be vegan, I or anyone else could help you find a diet that would work for you, guaranteed.

But one of the big reasons I became vegetarian was because well for one, I did not like meat that much when I was younger and my body does not digest it very well..
…
I have tried veganism, thank you for your concern, me living in a poor family.. I could not do it for long. I also know the harm that cows go through. I plan on going full vegan when I get my own place. :)
If you want some tips, I could help you out. I’m a self-supporting student who is living waaay below the poverty line, and I manage it. It takes some planning, and you can’t get a lot of high-priced substitutes, but it’s worth it.
